CONCERN ABOUT DEMENTIA? This is a must read.
By KJameson
Although intended for the UK market, everyone, no matter where you live, should buy this book if you or a loved one is confronting Dementia. As founder and president of the Dementia Society of America (DSA), I awaited this book with much anticipation. For those outside the UK, it does have some specific British references which may need some translation to your local area, yet it seems medically up-to-date and most certainly speaks more broadly (and more correctly inclusive in my opinion, vs earlier "Dummies" editions) to all Dementias. Simon Atkins handles most of the topics with skilled readable writing and an in-depth first-hand perspective, and he adroitly does not confuse the terms Alzheimer's and Dementia. We (DSA) promote person-centered care, and as such could have wished for a bit more in that department, but otherwise this valuable book is a must read. As I'm prone to say "Create the best possible tomorrow's, by taking the most meaningful actions today!" Get it today if you want to make a difference in your life and in those that you care for.

Looks very helpful, but is UK edition, US edition not available.
By Camber
Seems great, but is a UK edition, so about half the content is about a healthcare system that doesn't apply to us. There isn't a US version, so we returned this one, since the more general content is also covered in the many general dementia resources we already have. But if you're in the UK this looks fantastic.
