Revealing and a good read

It was easy to read and I learnt a lot from this book including a number of things that really surprised me. For example that most addicts are addicted to more than one drug. Much of the book's story is conveyed through the sometimes frighteningly frank interviews that the authors conducted with addicts, reformed users and social workers in the field. Seeing drug addiction starkly through their eyes is revealing and at times, confronting. Great to see the need for law reform threaded all the way through the book too. It is further support for the 2012 conclusions of the Australia21 think tank “The prohibition of illicit drugs is killing and criminalising our children and we are all letting it happen”.
Most importantly, I quite enjoyed reading this book and that rarely happens for me with non-fiction books.
