This book is such a touching picture of struggle and joy as Thomas goes from being unable to communicate or participate in most of his life's activities in any meaningful way to triumph after triumph each day after starting to use his Irlen color filter glasses. The glasses are the precise color his brain needs to be calm, allowing him to tolerate and navigate comfortably and increasingly capably both in his family setting and then in school. Irlen is a struggle with sensitivity to light, contrast and patterns that hampers even very intelligent children's success in school and life. I loved every page!
