A few years ago, I was invited to write a series of articles for publication, with exactly that goal. This audiobook is a collection of those articles. In addition to being supported by recent research of the human brain in the Western world, the articles in this book are also influenced by my knowledge of mindfulness and other ancient practices from the Eastern world. Interestingly, much of the recent neuroscience research confirms that many of these ancient Eastern practices do result in greatly improved brain functioning. The East-West synthesis evident in these articles reflects my many years of work and study on both sides of the Pacific Ocean, and my lifelong interest in how to improve the human brain.

Great advice

This is a quick and easy read - a well written and structured book covering several ways to apply neuroscience discoveries to the business world to achieve success.
Some examples (and some of my favourites) include:
How to improve your productivity at work
How knowledge of the brain's reaction to price and perception of value can help you to price your goods for maximum profit
How to create instant trust and rapport through knowledge of what our brains are hard-wired to perceive as trustworthy and untrustworthy
Scientific evidence for building team relationships at work
A brain-based model for effective business systems,
and more.
If you sell a product or service, reading the chapter about pricing and following the advice there will cover the cost of this book hundreds of times over. I also really liked the chapters about building business systems and team building. Those are two areas that many companies ignore, but they are really important. This book helps to explain the science behind why they are so important.
I'm giving this book four stars for the topics covered and ideas and advice presented. I took off one star because I feel like a couple of chapters could have gone into a bit more detail, or could have provided more additional resources, or references to the studies/journal articles where the discoveries discussed are published.
Overall, the price for this book is still much less than the amount you can gain from following the advice contained within. If you apply these principles at your work or business, you will see a great increase in productivity and also an increase in profits.

We all want to be more productive and effective. If you understand how your brain works and tailor your work processes and habits around it, you'll immediately be more productive and effective in what you do. It's about working smarter, not harder.
This book gives you the tools to do that, in a concise, easy-to-understand package. It offers practical tips, including how to schedule your work to maximize your brain's strengths, what pricing strategies can actually trigger the pleasure centers in customers' brains, how to stay calm in stressful situations, and the key to gaining trust and building rapport. I learned a lot from this book, and I look forward to more from this author.

Wealth of Information!

The Brain is such a complex thing, which is why people still devote their lives to studying it. What many people do not realize, is that you can employ strategies you use in business in the classroom, and be successful with them. I read a lot of self help books for that reason. Anything that will help me personally, will also help a room full of struggling teenagers, or at least help me understand them better. This is one of those books. Even though it is geared for folks in the business world, I have already applied several of the strategies to my classroom, and they work.
There is a wealth of information available in this book, written at a level that anyone can understand.
This is a must have for anyone to increase productivity and become more successful! Highly recommend.
